Party Part One

"Oh come on. It'll be fun."

"I don't want to go to a party."

"Why not?" Penelope whines, slowly falling across Kayla's lap.

"Lots of loud, drunk, rude people." She plainly states, looking down into Penelope's eyes.

"What if I promise to protect you from everyone?" Penelope offers, picking up Kayla's hand.

"Maybe. Where is this party?"

"I thought we'd have one here. Downstairs, lock the doors we don't want anyone going in." she lightly strokes the undersides of the finders with her nails.

"Who are you inviting?" Kayla warily asks; curling her hand around Penelope's, capturing it and pulling it up to her lips to brush a soft kiss across the knuckles.

Penelope seems to consider her options as she twists her wrist to intertwine her fingers with Kayla's. "Just a few friends. People we both know."

Letting her clasped hand be pulled down to her girlfriend, Kayla asks, "like who?"

"Like Laura, Talia and their friends, Evan and his friends, some people from work. The usual people and a few more."

"Alright. But you're responsible for the mess."

Penelope sits up again. "Thank you! I already sent the emails. People should start arriving in a few hours."

Kayla crosses her arms across her chest and glares at Penelope. "You 'already sent the emails.' How did you know that I'd say yes?"

Penelope leans across the short distance to press a kiss against Kayla's lips. "Because you just can't say no to me."

Kayla initiates another kiss. She speaks against Penelope's lips. "True."
